Innovation fund online course
We invite potential applicants to the Innovation fund call to attend a series of three webinars that are designed to help you prepare for the upcoming the calls.
The course will be hosted by experienced project managers and experts in the field of sustainability, chemical engineering and energy management:
- Nina Meglič, director of ACT-SI, LinkedIn
More than 10 years of experience in managing research and development projects in the field of low-carbon circular economy, accelerator of research and development ecosystem, member of the EIB Women Climate Leaders Network, part of the NCT for STEP Slovenia, SIST representative for ISO 59000, project coordinator at ReCatalyst. She holds a master’s degree from the Rome Business School in the field of sustainable management and circular bioeconomy. - Dr Blaž Likozar, National Institute of Chemistry, Head of the Department of Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering, LinkedIn
He is leading the programme “Chemical Reaction Engineering”, as well as numerous research projects (15 H2020 / >50 in Horizon Europe alone). His expertise lies (among others) in heterogeneous catalysis materials, modelling, simulation and optimization of process fluid mechanics, transport phenomena and chemical kinetics. He worked at the University of Delaware in 2014–2015 as a Fulbright Program researcher. He has authored >400 articles, was cited >10000 times, having a h-index of 61. He is also involved in many industrial projects, amongst others, with TotalEnergies, Evonik Industries, UPM, Novartis, Carbon Recycling International. He is a recipient of Pregl and Zois awards. - Dr Tine Seljak, University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Chair of power engineering, Laboratory for Heat and Power LTE, LinkedIn
Engineer in the field of process and energy sciences, working on fundamental and applied research related to alternative and renewable fuels, thermochemical conversion processes, and the optimization and management of local material-energy systems.
Based on technical, applied results, his research extends to energy and environmental policy dimensions. Recently, he contributed to establishing the Framework to monitor transition to circular economy. He was involved in projects supporting the decarbonization of multi-energy systems, energy intensive industries, regional energy system decarbonization and recovery of critical raw materials. - Dr Edin Lakić, Head of the Department for Sustainable Energy Solutions at the Institute for Innovation and Development of University of Ljubljana (IRI UL), LinkedIn
He obtained both his BSc and PhD from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, where he works as a Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Energy Policy (LEST).
His research and professional work cover smart power grids, renewable energy integration, electricity market operation, energy storage systems, energy efficiency, and energy economics. He is actively involved in preparing project proposals and in numerous European projects funded under the LIFE, H2020, Horizon Europe, and Innovation Fund programmes.
