Our project collaborations to improve the Slovene and EU clean tech ecosystem
Together with European partners, we develop solutions and raise awareness of clean innovations
ThinCBio is a Horizon Europe project (Grant No. 101294272) dedicated to mapping, connecting and strengthening Technology Infrastructures (TIs) across chemistry and biotechnology in Europe.
The European chemical and pharmaceutical industry employs 1.9 million people and supplies critical materials to nearly every sector. To remain globally competitive and meet climate goals, it urgently needs faster scale-up pathways and better access to shared pilot infrastructures, particularly for SMEs and start-ups.
ThinCBio addresses this challenge through four key steps:
- Mapping existing TIs across chemistry and all types of biotechnology (white, red, green, blue) into a comprehensive BC-TI Atlas
- Assessing user needs, barriers and gaps through EU-wide surveys and in-depth interviews
- Developing validated policy recommendations and a White Paper
- Co-creating a conclusive EU-wide roadmap for chemistry and biotech infrastructures
The project is coordinated by Fraunhofer IGB (Germany) and brings together six partners from five European countries: Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (Belgium), RISE Processum (Sweden), VTT Technical Research Centre (Finland), IDEA Consult (Belgium) and ACT-SI (Slovenia).

Among other things, act-si.org may also place other cookies on your computer, such as: user identification number in encrypted form (to identify the user on the next visit) and Google Analytics cookies (analysis of visits to the website).
All of the aforementioned data, with the exception of cookies, is stored permanently on the act-si.org server. Session cookies are only stored in the server's memory for the duration of the visit and are deleted after one hour of inactivity, while persistent cookies are stored on the visitor's computer.
The act-si.org website operator may use the data in anonymised aggregated form for statistical analysis purposes. Under no circumstances will the act-si.org website operator disclose user data to unauthorised persons. We will only contact the user by means of remote communication if the user does not explicitly object to this.
Exceptional disclosure of personal data
The data collected and processed by the act-si.org website administrator will only be disclosed if legally obliged to do so or in the good faith that such an action is required for legal proceedings before courts or other public authorities, or for the protection and pursuit of the legitimate interests of the act-si.org website administrator.
